Donations Coming from a United States Bank Made by a Check of $250.00 (USD) or More That Comes Through the Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities (FFLCC)
The Foundation for Lake Chapala Charities (FFLCC) has advised us that their bank, BBVA Bancomer, will now impose a very large increase in processing fees for all checks in the amount of $250.00 or more (USD). The fees imposed will range from $70.00 (USD) to $80.00 (USD) per check and these checks will take from 6 to 8 weeks to clear. This new procedure by BBVA Bancomer only impacts checks written on United States of America checking accounts for the amount of $250.00 (USD) or more and that check is written to FFLCC. If you are donating through a Donor Advised Fund, that donation will be impacted if the Donor Advised Fund manager sends checks to FFLCC to facilitate the donation. These processing fees will substantially decrease the amount of money that we receive.
Checks of $249.99 (USD) and less will not be impacted by this procedure. Checks written on a Mexican checking account will not be subject to this new procedure. Other methods of donation shown on this website and the website of FFLCC will not be subject to this new procedure. This new procedure does not impact direct bank transfers or credit card payments. 4. You will receive a tax-deductible receipt directly from the Foundation.
5. We will learn of your donation. The Foundation sends prompt reports to us and transfers 100% of the funds directly from their account to our account.
