Meet Jose Adrian. He was born on July 25, 2003 and is now almost 16 years old. We would like to share Jose Adrian's journey with you. At only eight years old, Jose Adrian became very sick. It started with a tumor in the throat, then on the face and the doctors only gave him 8 days to live.
For two years he received treatments at the Hospital Civil, stretching the family finances to the point where they had to sleep on the street outside the hospital to be there with him until a friend told them about Niños Incapacitados. In 2013, Jose Adrian entered the Niños Incapacitados program. He was diagnosed with "lymphoblastic leukemia". Childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a type of cancer in which the bone marrow produces too many immature lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell). His treatments started immediately on a weekly basis, then every 2 weeks, then once a month, every two months, etc for 4 years. He continues to go to the hospital every 6 months. His treatment schedule has taken more than 5 years of his young life. |
Jose Adrian has now been in remission for 4 years! He is a very intelligent boy and soon finish secondary school. He hopes to start prep school this August and His dream is to become a doctor like those who treated him! We have no doubt he will make it happen - for years Jose Adrian would come to the clinic himself and explains to everyone about his treatments. This life altering experience has given him the desire & strength to do his best.
As you can see, he is a very happy young man and is very grateful to Niños Incapacitados to be alive and for changing his life. We know that it was the strength of his spirit and his family's loving dedication in seeking the necessary help that has brought this young man here today to say.........LOOK AT ME NOW!!!

Volunteers are Love in MotionWatch our video and let our Clinic Volunteers tell you why they want/need to help these children.
Each of our Volunteers speaks Spanish. Due to the current circumstances, we connect with our families through "WhatsApp" which has help the Mothers stay in touch and receive the assistance that they need. They find this method both immediate but also gives them the confidence "we are here for them". |
Sharing is Caring.......There's nothing much more beautiful in this world ...... Than a person who cares.
But MOST of all, with everything that is happening,
YOU continue to Care & Share. THANK YOU |
